Ashbourne News, 6th July 1917: Albert Edward Maskery died of shrapnel wounds to the chest, and he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Maskery, of Mappleton. 20 years old, he had previously been employed for six years in the office of Messrs. Howell and Marsden, before joining the Royal Naval Division in June 1916. He had served on the Western Front since December.
